Blog Explanation

This blog has been created by none other than Paul Dale DeVries, and builds on a geneology tree that begins with Jan Folkerts DeVries who was born in the mid seventeen hundreds. What I have done is to "flesh out" the portion of the tree with people that I have known, i.e. beginning with Egbert and Rolfien (Knapper) DeVries who immigrated to the United States in 1904. Since my heritage is imbedded in the John (Jan) DeVries branch of that larger tree, I will concentrate on that branch alone. If however, there are others who wish to be added in terms of descriptions and explanations ... you can contact me via paul.d.devries@gmail.com to voice your desire to be included in the blog. This task may end up being too difficult to perform, however I will try my best to present the story with truth and candor. Actually, I am in the blog photograph which was taken for my great grandparents 55th wedding anniversary back in 1948 +/-. In the middle of the left side of the picture, my mother is holding me wearing a striped shirt.
